Medication Assisted Treatment
(MAT) is designed to help those with a variety of addictions to deal with short term and long term effects of withdrawal. MAT helps clients manage their physical symptoms and reduce cravings while allowing them to focus on their work in treatment necessary for behavioral changes. A combination of medication, counseling, and support helps individuals more successfully overcome opiate dependence such as heroin and pain killers. Our treatment primarily uses VIVITROL®
and Suboxone® in combination with regular doctor appointments and participation in addiction counseling. Chestnut offers MAT at its Granite City, Illinois
location. Transportation is available for patients qualifying for MAT who live outside the area.
Individuals wanting to participate in MAT are required to be in a Chestnut addiction treatment program and cannot be using, abusing, or dependent on alcohol, benzodiazepines, barbituates, or other sedative, hypnotic drugs.
