Through funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services, Chestnut helps coalitions in the strategic prevention framework, youth prevention education classes, a parent-focused alcohol prevention campaign, and prescription drug disposal.

Communication Campaigns

Parent Campaign
A parent-focused prevention communication campaign is currently being implemented in all junior high and high schools within Logan and Mason Counties in Illinois. Materials are shared to encourage parents to set clear rules and communicate about alcohol and drug use with their children.

Guard and Discard Campaign
The Guard and Discard media campaign is designed to raise public awareness of the importance of safe use, safe storage and safe disposal of prescription painkillers in preventing opioid misuse.
