Advancing community-engaged research to strengthen substance use treatment and recovery services for justice-involved and emerging adult populations

JEAP Research Center

About Us

The JEAP Research Center advances research on substance use disorder treatment and recovery services for emerging adults and justice-involved populations. Our work focuses on identifying what works, for whom, and under what conditions to improve individual, community, and service delivery outcomes.

Building on national recognition under the JEAP Initiative (NIDA R24DA051950), our team leads rigorous, community-engaged health services research and training. We also work to increase the representation and leadership of people with lived experience across the research enterprise.

Based at Chestnut Health Systems’ Lighthouse Institute, the JEAP Research Center conducts and translates research to strengthen substance use treatment, recovery support services, community decision-making, and real-world practice.

Focus Areas of the JEAP Research Center

The JEAP Research Center advances rigorous, community-engaged health services research to strengthen substance use treatment and recovery support services for two populations: emerging adults and populations impacted by the criminal legal system. We also work to expand the representation and leadership of people with lived experience across the research enterprise.
