The objective of this project is to evaluate a youth problem gambling prevention curriculum designed by Chestnut prevention staff. We hypothesize that after participating in the gambling curriculum, students will demonstrate: 1) increased knowledge about gambling; 2) increased endorsement of adaptive coping strategies for dealing with stress; 3) increased self-efficacy to refuse to gamble; 4) lower intentions to gamble in the future; and 5) increased levels of anticipated negative feelings about gambling. Donna Nahlik, Jeannette Obeius, and Alison Donoho will be the study principal investigators.
