Want to Help Others in Their Recovery Journey and Gain Valuable Experience?

 Join PEERS

 

The PEERS program gives you the chance to help others while learning new skills. As a coach, you’ll guide young adults working on their education, career goals, and personal development, with support to manage substance use and its effects on their life.

 

 

What You’ll Do as a PEERS Coach 

  • Help Others: Work with young adults to reach their goals and overcome challenges, like staying focused at school or work, building better habits, and managing substance use. 

  • Get Training: You’ll receive free training in coaching skills and recovery support. 

  • Get Paid: Earn money for doing activities like: 

  • research surveys, optional drug screens (private), and a research interview (at the first visit) during in-person visits in downtown Eugene (2-3 visits) 

  • Completing a few zoom interviews to provide your thoughts and opinions. (2-3 interviews)  

  • Flexible Experience: Training at your own pace and with ongoing support.

Who Can Be a PEERS Coach? 

  • Age: 18-30 

  • Goals: Want to help young adults working on their education, career, or personal goals. 

  • Attitudes & Beliefs: Open to working with people who have struggled with substance use or have had involvement in the criminal justice system. 

  • Location: Able to meet folks in-person in Eugene, Oregon and surrounding areas. 

 

What to Expect 

  • Training & Support: You’ll receive ongoing virtual training and guidance to help you support the people you’re working with. 

  • Weekly Meetings: Meet one-on-one with young adults interested in recovery support weekly for about an hour.  

  • Compensation: Get paid up to $200 for completing confidential research surveys and interviews and optional drug screens.
