Congratulations to February's Strategic Plan Champion Award winner, Amanda Hitchcock, Nursing Coordinator at Maryville, for her outstanding dedication to the strategic goal of RESEARCH AND TEACHING (Expand research, teaching, and training within our system and externally to influence the field). Through her efforts, they have exemplified our shared mission of branching out together and making a difference in our community and within our team.
Here is Amanda’s nomination:
Within the past couple months Amanda has prepared eight unique educational handouts and talking points to present during her team huddles. When preparing educational material for her team, Amanda ensures that the material is relevant to the work her team does, the population they serve, and that it addresses situations they are currently working through or are likely to encounter.
Amanda has also taken additional time within the past month to provide one-on-one targeted education to individuals within her team. Amanda was recently tasked with helping implement a new protocol that would allow the residential team to expand our reach and begin serving a population of clients who we were previously unable to safely accommodate. Amanda quickly jumped in and began preparing the necessary educational materials needed to ensure the team had the knowledge and skills needed to successfully launch this new initiative.
Amanda also recently identified an area of opportunity for additional education within her department, presented an evidence-based solution to her supervisor, and offered to take the lead in teaching the program that would address this need. Amanda offered to open this educational program to other departments interested in participating so the benefits of the program could have a greater impact within the organization.
Congratulations, Amanda!
