Mental Health First Aid Begins With You

You are more likely to encounter someone in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, eight-hour training course that is designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.

The discounted cost of most courses is $12 per person who lives or works in McLean County, Illinois. For individuals outside of McLean County, the cost is $40 per person.

This training is a "Blended In-Person" course. This means participants are required to complete online training modules before class. These online training modules generally take about two hours. You must have access to internet to take this course. All participants will receive course materials, including the online manual, for this training.
