NHSC Loan Repayment Program

The NHSC LRP offers up to $100,000 for providers working in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) in Illinois.

Eligible Credentials Include

  • Physicians (DO/MD)

  • Nurse Practitioners (NP)
  • Physician Assistants (PA)
  • Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM)
  • Health Service Psychologists (HSP)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
  • Psychiatric Nurse Specialists (PNS), Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT)
  • Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC)
  • Dentists (DDS/DMD), Dental Hygienists (RDH)
  • Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors
  • Registered Nurses (RN), Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors
  • Registered Nurses (RN)

Commitment
Full-time or part-time with a 2-3 year commitment.

Benefits
Up to $100,000 in loan repayment for qualified educational debt.
Non-taxable grant funds in Illinois.

Eligibility

  • Must be Illinois licensed or eligible.

  • U.S. citizen.

  • Commitment to working at an approved site.
