In 2009, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) launched a Recovery to Practice (RTP) Initiative designed to promote recovery-based practices in the delivery of addiction-related services. The following six professional associations were funded to develop and deliver training curricula to hasten the integration of recovery and recovery-oriented concepts and practices with their respective arenas: NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, American Psychiatric Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, American Psychological Association, Council on Social Work Education, and National Association of Peer Specialists.

NAADAC's contribution to this project included the development and refinement of nine webinars aimed at promoting recovery-oriented practices by addiction professionals. All titles are now available for free viewing 24/7 at www.naadac.org/webinars, and NAADAC members can earn free CE certificates. The nine webinars include the following:

NAADAC has also established a Recovery to Practice (RTP) Certificate Program designed to promote awareness, acceptance, and adoption of recovery-based practices in the delivery of addiction treatment and recovery support services.
