About BASE 

The BASE (Build, Amplify, Support, Empower) initiative is an initiative throughout Illinois to reduce substance use among youth and emerging adults.  

Mission 

BASE aims to build protective factors, amplify community voices, support prevention efforts, and empower youth and families across Illinois.  

Program Goals 

  • Prevent, delay, and reduce substance use 

  • Reduce stigma and increase awareness 

  • Increase access to treatment and community supports 

  • Empower youth, families, and communities
