Therapy and Family Services
For Children and Youth
Chestnut Health Systems™ provides comprehensive treatment for those five years old and older. We emphasize the importance of both the child and the parent understanding children's needs, behaviors and symptoms.
We offer effective, short-term interventions for a variety of difficulties faced by young people. Our treatment staff is experienced in helping families and children cope with mental health issues like depression and grief, anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), behavioral problems, family conflict, blended family issues, and serious trauma. Families with limited resources are typically eligible for financial assistance.
In working with children and families, Chestnut provides advocacy, case management, connections to community support, help in crisis situations, classes for parents, family counseling, group therapy, individual counseling, and consultation and evaluation by a psychiatrist as needed.
FIRST.IL is intended for individuals who are between the ages of 14 to 40 and have had a treated or untreated psychotic illness for no more than 18 months.
MHJJ serves youth ages 10 to 18 in Madison and St. Clair Counties in Illinois who are involved with the juvenile justice system, are experiencing mental health symptoms and have a medical card.
We collaborate with the school and the child’s family to diagnose and treat mental health issues and provide support.
